Part of The Waste Land series
The region of Banat in northern Serbia is known for its strong and frequent winds, which have influenced the identity and uniqueness of the area. The Wind Rose represents one segment of a project about Banat, with wind as its central theme, exploring the potential impact of wind on shaping the land and influencing human communities. By establishing a connection between memory, historical facts, and imagination, I create a visual space that seeks to understand the spirit of the place in an alternative way. Since it is impossible to fully read the traces of history imprinted in the landscape, I document, reimagine, and sometimes reconstruct them, suggesting that the factual past can intertwine with personal and local memory.
